About The Position

Immaculate Conception School, a Pre-K through 8 Catholic School in Columbus, Ohio, is seeking a part-time Spanish Teacher for the 2026-27 academic year. The school's mission is to educate children in the life of Jesus Christ, nurture academic excellence, and foster nobility of character. The ideal candidate will be Catholic, enthusiastic about teaching the Catholic faith, and possess a love for educating young minds. Candidates must have appropriate coursework and licensure to teach in Ohio, or be eligible for licensure.

Requirements

  • Hold an appropriate Ohio Teaching License (Professional, Permanent, or Resident Educator) or be eligible to obtain one before beginning to teach.
  • Current satisfactory BCI & FBI background checks.
  • Have attended or be willing to attend a Virtus Protecting God's Children training.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Appropriate state certification/license as required by the grade levels and subjects taught.
  • Religious Education certification as required by the diocese.

  • Help students grow in faith and responsibility.
  • Integrate Catholic teachings and virtues throughout the curriculum and school culture.
  • Support faith formation and student learning.
  • Understand student learning, development, and faith formation while respecting diversity.
  • Know and understand the content for instructional responsibility.
  • Use varied assessments to inform instruction, evaluate, and ensure student learning.
  • Plan and deliver effective instruction that advances the learning of each individual student.
  • Create Christ-centered learning environments that promote high levels of learning and achievement.
  • Collaborate and communicate with students, parents, other educators, administrators, and the faith community.
  • Support student development, learning, and faith.
  • Assume responsibility for professional academic/spiritual growth, performance, and involvement.
