About The Position

Kennedy Catholic High School is seeking a dynamic, self-directed educator to teach a full-time combination of Spanish classes within the World Languages Department. Key responsibilities include instruction and curriculum development, assessment, classroom management and parent communication; collaboration with colleagues to ensure quality and consistency of overall program; willing participation in the co-curricular and ministerial life of the school; mentorship for student engagement; and fulfillment of all additional supervision duties expected of full-time teachers.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in the specific content area (ex. Spanish)
WA State Teaching Certificate or the ability to obtain one
Familiarity with educational technology
Recent classroom experience, preferably in a high school setting
Teach a range of Spanish classes
Demonstrate flexibility and resourcefulness
Create and implement authentic assessments (formative and summative) appropriate to the health and physical education courses assigned
Use technology as a tool in the classroom
Work with a wide variety of high school students in a multicultural setting
Develop positive interpersonal relationships
Exhibit good organization and management skills
Meet individual student needs in the development of department goals and restructuring of the curriculum
Collaborate with colleagues including team teaching and professional learning communities
