About The Position

Novastar Kids Co. is seeking a dependable and enthusiastic Spanish Substitute Teacher to provide ongoing Spanish language classroom coverage on Mondays and Thursdays, approximately 6 hours per day. The ideal candidate is passionate about language learning, enjoys working with children, and can create a positive and engaging classroom environment. The Substitute Teacher will follow established lesson plans and curriculum while providing continuity in Spanish instruction.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Strong communication and classroom management skills.
• Dependable, punctual, professional, and flexible.
• Ability to follow lesson plans and adapt to the needs of students.
• Ability to maintain student confidentiality.
• Commitment to creating a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment.
• Ability to successfully complete required background checks and meet applicable school employment requirements.

Nice To Haves

• College coursework or degree in education, Spanish, world languages, or a related field preferred.
• Strong Spanish language proficiency or fluency preferred.
• Previous experience working with children or in an educational setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide Spanish language instruction according to lesson plans and curriculum provided by the regular teacher.
• Support students in developing Spanish speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills.
• Reinforce Spanish vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, and cultural understanding.
• Create an engaging, supportive, and age-appropriate learning environment.
• Encourage students to participate actively and confidently in Spanish.
• Maintain positive classroom management and student engagement.
• Take attendance and maintain classroom records as required.
• Support individual student learning needs and accommodations as directed by school staff.
• Supervise students and follow all school safety and emergency procedures.
• Communicate relevant student or classroom concerns to school administration.
• Assist with transitions, lunch, recess, arrival, dismissal, and other supervision duties as assigned.
• Maintain classroom organization and prepare the classroom for the regular teacher's return.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding student information and school matters.
• Follow all Novastar Kids Co. policies and procedures.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
