About The Position

We are seeking fluent Spanish (Spain) and English speakers with strong writing, editing, transcription, annotation, and evaluation skills for a specialized remote consulting opportunity. This role involves analyzing Spanish audio and video content, capturing linguistic nuances, and producing precise, well-structured written outputs. The position supports current and upcoming remote consulting projects focused on Spanish (Spain) audio evaluation, transcription, annotation, rubric development, response grading, and quality review. Selected professionals will work with general consumer audio and video content in Peninsular Spanish, ensuring transcriptions, evaluation standards, and language outputs reflect accuracy, fluency, clarity, and regional usage across Spain.

Requirements

  • Native or near-native fluency in Spanish (Spain), both spoken and written.
  • Professional fluency in English.
  • Strong familiarity with Peninsular Spanish, regional vocabulary, accents, and contemporary language usage across Spain.
  • Ability to accurately transcribe and analyze Spanish audio content across general consumer contexts.
  • Strong writing, editing, critical thinking, and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines.
  • Availability to commit approximately 10–20 hours per week.
  • Current location in the United Kingdom or the United States.
  • College students, recent graduates, or professionals with relevant language, writing, research, or analytical experience are encouraged to apply.
  • Backgrounds in linguistics, humanities, social sciences, journalism, translation, localization, language studies, communications, or technical disciplines are especially relevant.
  • Equivalent experience in transcription, annotation, localization, language evaluation, or research workflows is also highly relevant.
  • Work must not involve sharing confidential or proprietary information from any employer, client, or institution.

  • Prior experience with transcription, annotation, localization, evaluation, grading, research workflows, or language data review.
  • Familiarity with differences between Peninsular Spanish and Latin American Spanish varieties.

  • Strong ability to explain linguistic judgments clearly in both Spanish and English.

Responsibilities

  • Listen to, analyze, and transcribe audio and video content in Spanish (Spain).
  • Produce high-quality written outputs in Spanish, with supporting work in English when required.
  • Follow detailed constraints, formatting requirements, and stylistic guidelines.
  • Capture tone, intent, formal and informal register, regional expressions, and contemporary Peninsular Spanish usage where relevant.
  • Establish clear expectations for correct and high-quality responses in general consumer audio contexts.
  • Develop detailed evaluation rubrics and grading guidelines in Spanish and English.
  • Document standards to support consistency across reviewers and evaluation workflows.
  • Identify linguistic nuances, grammatical complexities, idiomatic expressions, regional variations, and edge cases specific to Spanish as spoken in Spain.
  • Review generated responses and assess outputs against predefined criteria.
  • Evaluate responses for accuracy, completeness, fluency, clarity, and adherence to instructions.
  • Provide structured feedback to improve quality in Spanish audio-related tasks.
  • Apply careful judgment when reviewing ambiguous, nuanced, or context-dependent language outputs.
  • Support quality review cycles to ensure tasks, rubrics, and outputs meet project standards.
  • Maintain consistency and reliability before datasets are used in formal evaluation workflows.
  • Collaborate with project leads to resolve ambiguities and improve task design.
  • Support clean documentation of review decisions, grading rationale, and language-specific observations.
