About The Position

Atlas Immersion Academy is a multilingual early childhood education organization offering Spanish, French, and Chinese immersion programs for children from 3 months through Pre-K across five Portland Metro campuses. Starting August 31, 2026, our Multnomah County campuses will operate as Preschool For All (PFA) facilities — Multnomah County's initiative providing free, high-quality preschool to eligible children. We are now hiring Spanish-speaking Lead Teachers for our Gabriel Park and Northeast campuses to join this exciting launch.

Requirements

  • Minimum Step 7 on the Oregon Registry Online (ORO) is required.
  • Fluency in Spanish and English — all instruction and classroom conversation will be conducted in Spanish, while most family communication will be in English.
  • One of the following: Associate degree in ECE or related field with 1 year of experience with children ages 0–5 in a licensed setting; Bachelor's or Master's degree in ECE or related field; or equivalent combination of education and qualifying teaching experience.
  • Oregon Food Handler's Card (Required prior to employment or within the first 30 days).
  • Registration in the Central Background Check Registry (employees 18+) (Required prior to employment or within the first 30 days).
  • Adult and Pediatric First Aid and CPR certification (Required prior to employment or within the first 30 days).
  • Prevention is Better than Treatment, Introduction to Child Health and Safety, Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse and Neglect, Foundations for Learning, and Safe Sleep for Oregon's Infants trainings (Required prior to employment or within the first 30 days).
  • Conscious Discipline (within the first 90 days).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in early childhood education in a licensed preschool or childcare setting preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver Spanish immersion-based curriculum aligned with the Atlas framework and Multnomah County PFA standards.
  • Support each child's social-emotional development.
  • Build strong partnerships with families.
  • Mentor your assistant teacher.
  • Ongoing documentation of each child's progress.
  • Regular curriculum reflections.
  • Family engagement events.
  • Mentorship of classroom staff.
