About The Position

The role of a Spanish linguist is meaningful, leveraging knowledge and research skills to improve national security. With the explosion of available information, the intelligence community needs individuals who can turn data into answers. This position requires critical thinking and flexibility to seek out accurate data sources, sift through raw data, and transform it into valuable intelligence. The Spanish linguist will explore new data sources, create effective queries, and combine information from disparate sources to help clients understand their operational landscape. Responsibilities include validating information, applying client tradecraft, and building assessments for warfighters and senior policy makers. This role offers opportunities for professional growth, development of advanced language-based analysis skills, and sharing lingual, cultural, and regional expertise. The team focuses on growth and delivering the best support to customers, with resources for mentoring and learning new skills and tools. The goal is to provide the right information at the right time to support the critical needs of the defense community.

Requirements

  • Experience performing written Spanish-to-English translation
  • Knowledge of using Adobe and Microsoft Office suite
  • Ability to produce client-ready, time-sensitive products and reports per client requirements
  • Ability to operate in a dynamic, fast-paced environment that may on occasion require working nonstandard hours
  • Ability to show a score of 3/3 on the Interagency Language Roundtable (ILR) and DLPT exam in the Spanish and English languages in listening, reading, speaking, and writing
  • TS/SCI clearance
  • HS diploma or GED

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with DoD counterintelligence (CI) and collection initiatives or programs
  • Experience in a CI or human intelligence (HUMINT) role
  • Experience with cyber threat analysis or computer network operations
  • Experience with U.S. counter threat operations and analysis
  • Experience with social networking platforms, applications, and trends
  • Bachelor's degree
