About The Position

Big Blue Marble Academy is seeking an experienced and fluent Spanish teacher to lead children through their Passport to Language curriculum. This role involves teaching Spanish, French, and Mandarin classes, as well as language immersion summer camps, in a lively and encouraging environment. The curriculum incorporates original music, dance, games, storytelling, workbooks, songs, and drama to keep children immersed and engaged. The teacher will create a positive and fun learning environment, communicate effectively with children, directors, peers, and parents, and may travel between multiple locations. This position is 3 days a week.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED Required
Fluent in Spanish, French or Mandarin and English
Experience working with children in groups
Must be comfortable working with a wide variety of ages, including younger children
Must be willing and able to travel within a predetermined territory
Employees are regularly required to stand (six to eight hours daily), stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, bend, etc with children.
Must be able to lift a minimum of 30 pounds
Successful completion of background check, pre-hire screenings, and onboarding processes.

Nice To Haves

CDA, AA or BA degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred

Responsibilities

Engage students of all age groups through the Passport to Language curriculum.
Create a positive and fun learning environment using workbooks, songs, drama, games, and other learning materials.
Travel from center to center each week to deliver language enrichment, based on the needs of multiple locations.
Communicate clearly and appropriately with children, directors, peers, and parents.
Create written communication to parents as directed by the Language/Curriculum Program Director.
