About The Position

ICA Language Services is seeking an experienced Spanish Language Instructor to provide in-person instruction at our facility in Rosslyn, VA. This position supports intensive Spanish language training focused on developing the student’s listening, speaking, and reading proficiency. The role involves planning and delivering intensive Spanish language instruction designed to support progression from ILR 2 toward ILR 3. The instructor will develop the student’s listening, speaking, and reading proficiency through communicative and proficiency-oriented instruction, and will also develop and adapt instructional materials based on the student’s proficiency level, learning needs, and course objectives. Additionally, the instructor will focus on developing the student’s ability to discuss a broad range of professional, social, and current-event topics, administer practice assessments, quizzes, and other activities to monitor student progress, provide constructive feedback and support independent language study, and incorporate activities and tasks aligned with ILR proficiency expectations and NFATC-style language assessment.

Requirements

  • Minimum of two years of experience teaching Spanish to adult learners in an intensive setting
  • Familiarity with the ILR proficiency scale and NFATC/FSI testing protocols
  • Strong organizational, communication, and classroom management skills
  • ILR 4 or higher proficiency in Spanish
  • High proficiency in English sufficient for instruction and feedback
  • Applicants must be U.S. citizens, permanent residents, or foreign nationals authorized to work in the United States.
