About The Position

The Language Banc (TLB), a Piedmont Global company, offers flexible, on-call work on an Independent Contractor basis. We are currently seeking Spanish interpreters for on-site interpretation assignments in Hutchinson, Wisconsin to provide in-person services. This is a "1099" independent contractor position for on-site (OSI) interpretation services.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or GED.
• Native fluency in English and Spanish.
• Prior interpreting experience and knowledge of medical terminology.
• Completion of a 40-hour accredited interpreter training (e.g., Bridging the Gap, The Community Interpreter training).
• Reliable transportation, insurance, and access to a mobile phone and computer.
• Up-to-date immunization records and ability to pass a criminal background check.

Nice To Haves

• National Certification (CCHI/CMI or NBCMI)

Responsibilities

• Facilitate effective communication by accurately converting spoken language between parties.
• Render messages clearly without omissions or additions while maintaining original style and context.
• Provide sight translations of written materials as required.
• Adhere to the Interpreter Code of Ethics, Standards of Practice, and HIPAA confidentiality protocols.
• Act as a cultural broker to assist parties in reaching mutual understanding.
