The Spanish Healthcare Interpreter I position at Carolinas Medical Center, part of Advocate Health, involves proactively responding to requests for language access within a healthcare setting. This includes providing in-person, telephone, and video interpreting services, as well as basic translation. The role requires leveraging technology, troubleshooting basic application issues, and maintaining relationships with internal customers while making decisions on appropriate interpreter modalities. The interpreter will facilitate communication regarding patient and family healthcare needs, covering scenarios like patient education, appointments, discharge instructions, procedures, emergency encounters, and assessments. Key responsibilities include interpreting accurately and concisely, considering cultural implications, acting as a cultural broker to educate caregivers, and adhering to professional conduct standards and national practice standards.
