About The Position
We are seeking a full-time LPN for our plasma donor clinic in West Valley City, UT. This is a unique nursing role conducting initial health assessments of potential blood donors to ensure their suitability for plasma donation. The LPN will do donor intake, perform vitals, a finger-stick and a head-to-toe medical exam. Qualified donors who pass the assessment will then be sent to the phlebotomy team for their blood donation; Donors who don't meet the requirements will be counselled by the nurse as to what measures need to be taken to qualify for donation next time.
Requirements
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
- Bilingual in Spanish
Responsibilities
- Conduct initial health assessments of potential blood donors.
- Ensure donor suitability for plasma donation.
- Perform donor intake.
- Perform vital signs checks.
- Perform finger-stick tests.
- Perform head-to-toe medical exams.
- Counsel donors who do not meet requirements on measures to qualify for future donations.
