ASRC Federal System Solutions (AFSS) is seeking a Spacecraft Technician Harness Fabrication, Senior in Kennedy Space Center, FL. This role involves performing a range of duties in mechanical, electromechanical, and Facilities GSE when constructing and assembling spacecraft and associated ground support equipment. The technician will read and interpret blueprints, schematics, engineering documents, and work authorization documents. Key responsibilities include constructing, assembling, troubleshooting, calibrating, adjusting, testing, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining equipment, components, and systems. This also includes operating related equipment, conducting tests, reporting data, performing alignment checks, modifications, and replacements, and preparing compounds and solutions. The role requires the use of various measuring devices such as micrometers, calipers, and laser measuring devices, as well as carrying out corrosion control treatments. Maintaining documentation and making recommendations for process improvements are also part of the duties. A significant aspect of the role is fabricating flight and non-flight wire harness assemblies, including power, RF, high-speed data, thermal, network, thermocouple, and fiber optic types. This involves interpreting engineering drawings, schematics, and wire lists, and assembling according to work instructions and specifications. The technician will perform layout, terminations, crimping, soldering, connector mate/demate, potting, and staking. They will also conduct continuity and insulation resistance functional tests, troubleshoot issues, and assist Engineering with solutions and corrective actions. Operation of processing and test equipment such as Laser Wire ID machine, DMM, network and fiber optic tester, and automated test unit is required. Collaboration with Engineering to resolve production issues and training/mentoring of less experienced technicians are also key functions. Basic computer software proficiency (Microsoft Office and manufacturing applications) and excellent communication skills are necessary.
