About The Position

EchoStar is seeking a Spacecraft Engineer II to join their DISH Technology team. This role involves planning, supporting, executing, and overseeing TT&C and spacecraft subsystem operations, including commanding and stationkeeping. The engineer will analyze spacecraft health data, prepare reports, and communicate status updates across the organization. A key aspect of the role is to optimize spacecraft performance, troubleshoot subsystems, and extend mission life. The position requires maintaining situational awareness of operations and industry advancements, providing support to spacecraft controllers, and performing 24x7 on-call engineering support for anomaly resolution. The engineer will also be responsible for creating, reviewing, and optimizing spacecraft procedures, tools, and processes, as well as managing the operations activity schedule and status reports. Additionally, the role involves planning complex payload reconfigurations, supporting new spacecraft development, analyzing design documentation, participating in ground testing, and managing in-orbit test and evaluation. The engineer will investigate performance trends, establish monitoring standards, oversee spacecraft maneuvers, and direct orbital relocation operations. Training material development and the conceptualization of new processes and tools are also part of the responsibilities. The role may involve assisting with hiring, onboarding, and mentoring junior engineers and interns. The engineer will apply professional judgment to create and implement innovative strategies for dynamic operational needs and organize cross-functional projects. Coordination with external parties is also required.
