About The Position

Space Systems Integration (SSI) is a fast-growing engineering company providing aerospace solutions to government and commercial customers. SSI is seeking a Space Systems Integration Engineer in El Segundo, California. Embedded with the Government, the engineer will apply advanced engineering principles to help shape and deliver next-generation capability. The role focuses on tailored, rapid acquisition frameworks and integration across space, ground, and mission segments, with contributions to program planning, risk mitigation, technical oversight, and execution. Travel is 25%.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree and 14 or more years of applicable experience, or a master's degree and 12 or more years of experience.
Experience leading systems engineering teams focused on integration of complex space and/or ground systems.
Experience using tools such as Cameo, JIRA, and Confluence.
Active TS clearance with in-scope T5/SSBI is required, along with SCI eligibility and participation in Continuous Evaluation.
Must meet all requirements for SCI and SAP access and be willing to undergo a polygraph examination.

Responsibilities

Lead interface engineers supporting payload-to-spacecraft interface development and integration.
Engage with development contractors to evaluate designs, models, integration, and test plans.
Oversee payload integration and manage interface control with stakeholders.
Perform ground-segment system integration and deployment into operations, including development of concepts of operation (CONOPS).
Make program risk assessments and provide actionable recommendations to the chief engineer and program manager.
Collaborate independently with Government program office representatives, FFRDC, SETA, and contractor personnel.
