About The Position

The Systems Engineer - Strategic SATCOM (Space Segment) role supports the engineering and integration of Department of Defense space systems, with an emphasis on satellite communications capabilities. The position involves managing technical baselines, applying model-based or digital engineering methodologies, and collaborating across multiple stakeholders to support complex space programs. It is a contract-to-hire position based fully onsite in El Segundo, California.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of military SATCOM experience.
• At least 2 years of space acquisition experience.
• Experience with Agile software development programs.
• Experience with Confluence and/or Jira.
• Experience working with software factories or DevSecOps pipelines.
• Top Secret clearance.

Nice To Haves

• Master's degree in a related technical discipline.
• Agile certifications such as CSM, CSPO/CPO, PMI-ACP, or ICP.
• INCOSE certifications such as ASEP, CSEP, or ESEP.
• Experience with cloud, DevOps, and Agile.

Responsibilities

• Perform systems engineering and/or hardware-software integration activities for DoD space systems.
• Support engineering efforts related to satellite and ground systems.
• Use MBSE or digital engineering approaches to define, manage, and maintain technical baselines.
• Participate in and contribute to cross-functional engineering teams and technical discussions.
• Work independently and collaboratively to complete complex technical tasks.
