About The Position

As a member of our team, you will have the chance to work with customers that are both Government and industry leaders and technology innovators. We are seeking an Expert Systems Engineer to provide high-level technical leadership in support of complex geospatial intelligence systems. The KPMO Space Systems Engineer provides advanced engineering support across all phases of the system lifecycle to ensure the delivery of timely and accurate Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT). This role applies to a multi-disciplinary approach to the development, integration, and sustainment of space-based capabilities within Controlled Access Programs (CAPs) and Special Access Programs (SAPs) across the National System for Geospatial Intelligence (NSG) and the Department of Defense/Intelligence Community (DoD/IC).

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and possess a current and active TS/SCI clearance granted by the Department of Defense or an Intelligence Community agency.
  • Must be able to pass a Counterintelligence (CI) Polygraph.
  • Master’s in Engineering and 18 years of experience, or PhD in Engineering and 10 years of experience in related technical or scientific fields such as engineering, physics, mathematics.
  • Experience with Integrated Protection Strategy (IPS) or integrating SSA applications.
  • Experience with space related activities such as SOSI, BMC3, or orbital analysis.
  • Experience dealing with data at multiple classification levels and processing data at multiple classification levels.
  • Demonstrated experience with space enterprise information needs.
  • Experience with space environments such as space to ground or threat assessments of space assets.
  • Experience with physics models to include analyzing space weather effects, and threat/damage analysis of space based objects.
  • Experience with space object measurement.
  • Experience with NRO/SAO or AF SPO.
  • Understanding of MBSE processes, tools, and languages.
  • Ability to work onsite in a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) environment, as required.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with government customers, technical teams, and cross-functional partners.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment and remain in a stationary position for extended periods.

Nice To Haves

  • Must be willing to sign additional Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs).
  • Must provide proof of Organizational Conflict of Interest (OCI) status for participation in KPMO programs.

Responsibilities

  • Engage in activities including requirements engineering, solutions development, systems reliability and resiliency, services deployment, research and development (R&D), systems integration, test and evaluation (T&E), and maintainability analysis.
  • Operate effectively within highly classified environments.
  • Support all phases of the system lifecycle to ensure the delivery of timely and accurate Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT).
  • Apply a multi-disciplinary approach to the development, integration, and sustainment of space-based capabilities within Controlled Access Programs (CAPs) and Special Access Programs (SAPs) across the National System for Geospatial Intelligence (NSG) and the Department of Defense/Intelligence Community (DoD/IC).
  • Analyze requirements and contribute to technical solutions in a mission-driven environment.
  • Manage assigned tasks and deliver quality work under deadlines.
  • Analyze complex system requirements and develop technical recommendations.
  • Contribute to systems engineering, integration, and evaluation efforts across the lifecycle.
  • Support technical planning, risk identification, and system improvement initiatives.
  • Work independently while contributing to team objectives in a fast-paced environment.
  • Manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work under deadlines.
  • Comply with all security requirements, including handling classified information in secure environments.
