About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Space Planner to support DHS/FPS with workplace planning, space utilization, site assessments, relocation planning, and office/facility reconfiguration activities. The Space Planner will evaluate existing and future space requirements and develop practical workplace solutions that improve utilization, support organizational changes, and align with Government requirements.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of relevant experience.
  • Active NCIDQ certification — mandatory.
  • Experience in workplace planning, architectural/interior planning, facilities planning, space utilization, or similar environments.
  • Ability to develop and interpret space plans and related documentation.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder coordination skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain space plans for FPS office and facility requirements.
  • Evaluate existing space utilization and identify opportunities for more efficient use of Government facilities.
  • Conduct site assessments and evaluate existing conditions.
  • Develop preliminary layouts and space configurations for relocations, expansions, consolidations, and reconfigurations.
  • Support furniture, workstation, seating, and workplace planning activities.
  • Coordinate space requirements with FPS personnel, facility representatives, project managers, and other stakeholders.
  • Support relocation and move planning activities.
  • Evaluate alternative space configurations and provide recommendations.
  • Maintain accurate space-planning documentation, drawings, layouts, and related records.
  • Support cost and schedule considerations associated with space changes.
  • Participate in site visits and coordination meetings as required.
