About The Position

Under general supervision and working within a team setting, the Space Planner/Designer performs production-focused design work, co-creates design and furniture, fixtures, and equipment (F/F/E) packages, completes 3D renderings, and manages small commercial tenant projects. The position supports tenant-specific and standardized specification projects and develops construction documents and design documentation.

Requirements

• Advanced customer service skills and ability to communicate diplomatically with vendors.
• Ability to work independently; self-starter and energetic.
• Ability to anticipate work needs and follow through with minimal direction.
• Education in architecture, interior design, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Two to four years of experience at an architectural or design firm.
• Experience with Photoshop, Illustrator, Excel, Word, and other computer software.
• Successfully pass pre-employment screening.
• Reliable transportation to and from work each day.

Nice To Haves

• Facilitation experience and/or liaison skills between parties regarding building facility projects.

Responsibilities

• Perform space planning for tenant-specific and standardized specification projects.
• Produce construction documents for pricing and permitting in accordance with building, energy, and accessibility codes using Vizio and AutoCAD.
• Develop and document designs, details, schedules, and specifications.
• Field-measure buildings to verify plan accuracy, obtain current information on facility inventory and furniture, and enter information into software.
• Assist senior staff with selecting finishes, furniture, and artwork for a broad range of projects.
• Ensure appropriate department and tenant involvement.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
