About The Position

The Space Optimisation Specialist drives the intersection of data-driven insights and physical retail execution. Reporting to the Format and Optimisation Lead, this role is responsible for architecting customer-centric floorplans and planograms that maximize space productivity, enhance the "ease of shop," and strictly adhere to Endeavour Drinks’ merchandising blueprints. By leveraging data, you will translate category strategies into high-performing layouts that deliver superior commercial outcomes and a seamless discovery experience for our customers.

Requirements

  • Relevant graduate qualification (e.g. business studies or a quantitative discipline) or equivalent work experience
  • Technical skills associated with coding / formula building logic, automation and logical problem solving.
  • Advanced data manipulation skills within software such as Google Sheets & Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to engage with a range of stakeholders to scope and develop potential solutions upfront.
  • Ability to communicate range optimisation insights from data in a compelling way.
  • Experience in managing project delivery in-line with timelines.
  • Prior experience with a coding language for business analysis purpose (GCP: BigQuery & DataStudio visualisation preferred)

  • Experience with BY Space/Floor/Range or TCS Optumera products an advantage
  • Other Space and Merchandising software
  • Proven track record of delivering major reviews/work responsibilities on time
  • Clustering methodology and experience

Responsibilities

  • Create data-driven, store-specific planograms using industry tools to optimise sales density and stock turn.
  • Execute brand-aligned merchandising strategies (e.g., Dan Murphy’s/BWS) adhering to core blueprints.
  • Ensure planograms are efficient for store implementation.
  • Maximise sales per square metre by using category performance and customer insights in floorplan design.
  • Strategically manage adjacencies to drive cross-category conversion.
  • Help iterate store formats, ensuring adaptability to local trends and demographics.
  • Proactively monitor post-implementation data, providing recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Validate layouts using range/space tools, commercial logic, and customer metrics.
  • Present data-backed layouts to stakeholders to gain buy-in.
  • Establish feedback loops with store teams to refine solutions.
  • Manage end-to-end schedules, ensuring all outputs meet critical deadlines.
  • Demonstrate agility and resilience when navigating project shifts or disruptions.
