About The Position

As a Systems Engineer for the SDA GMI program, you’ll be a member of a cross-functional team responsible for developing and deploying the state-of-the-art ground operational system. This role involves collaborating with customers, mission partners, and other key stakeholders to translate requirements into robust system designs within a fast-moving timeline. You will also be responsible for the decomposition of end-to-end system requirements into architecture, design, interfaces, and test cases, and coordinating with developers and integration and test teams to ensure component development meets system mission needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field, plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree, plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Department of Defense Secret security clearance is obtainable within a reasonable amount of time after hire.
  • Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Proficiency in systems engineering, decomposing requirements into architecture, internal and external interfaces, design behavior with emphasis on: Ground pre-planned or ad-hoc scheduling and situational awareness of satellites and payloads
  • Experience with tracking IR payload or ground mission data transport, handling, and analysis
  • Software/Systems engineering: Experience decomposing the high-level space-ground systems design into ground software/systems design.
  • Experience with MBSE methodologies and tools such as, CAMEO or MagicDraw.
  • Familiarity with programming languages such as Java, Python, and MATLAB, including for software developer coordination, system analysis, prototype algorithm development, or modeling.
  • Knowledge of cloud technologies and their application in system design and deployment.
  • Background in simulation and modeling analysis with tools like STK, particularly in aerospace applications.
