About The Position

Dune Deck Beach Club, part of the Discovery Land Company, is seeking a part-time Spa/Fitness Manager to join the Wellness Department. This role involves the daily management of spa and fitness staff and overall Wellness operations. The manager will coordinate spa and fitness services, including wellness programs, personal training, fitness classes, massage, and program coordination. Responsibilities also include overseeing reservations, the reception desk, and treatment rooms. The Spa/Fitness Manager aims to exceed guest and employee satisfaction and maximize the department's financial performance, contributing to the unique Discovery Land Company experience.

Requirements

  • Three (3) years minimum experience supervising staff.
  • In-depth knowledge of fitness, health, and wellness profession.
  • Extensive background/experience in the Spa, Fitness, and Wellness industry.
  • Active proponent of health, fitness, and wellness.
  • Flexibility and ability to pivot to new projects and a desire to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to deliver service to members, guests, and team members.
  • Must be able to work flexible work hours/schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Long hours may be required due to business demands.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to stay calm and focused during the busiest of times.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; additional languages preferred.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including, but not limited to, working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, standing, walking, and moving for periods of greater than eight (8) hours, and lifting and carrying items sometimes greater than fifty (50) pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Displays leadership in guest hospitality, exemplifying excellent customer service, and creating a positive atmosphere for guest relations.
  • Empowers employees to provide excellent customer service.
  • Establish, implement, and maintain the policies and procedures for the supervised Wellness staff positions in order to provide superior guest service.
  • Ensure smooth and proper daily operations of the Spa and Fitness areas.
  • Responsible for the Wellness Center staff, including recruitment, regular staff training, staff schedules, timecard approvals, and performance evaluations.
  • Oversee retail & supply inventory and ordering.
  • Addresses concerns on a daily basis encompassing all aspects of the operation.
  • Provide the Wellness Director with timely updates on spa and fitness operations, and assist in creating and implementing opportunities for improving guest services and Wellness operations.
  • Maintain the highest standard of cleanliness and organization for the treatment room(s) and Gyms.
  • Conduct Facility walk-throughs – ensuring cleanliness, orderliness, and flawless functionality of all equipment and facilities.
  • Effectively communicate and coordinate operational activities with key relationships in all departments, including Member Services and Sales.
  • Strive to continually improve and perfect the operational processes of the Wellness department.
  • Attend department and property meetings.
  • Any other related duties or responsibilities as directed by the Wellness Director.
