About The Position

The Spa Director is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of an upscale spa and salon within a health and fitness environment. This role ensures the delivery of superior customer service, achievement of high employee and member satisfaction, and performance relative to club objectives. Requirements

  • Two Year College degree in business or relevant degree.
  • Minimum of 3 years of day spa management experience.
  • Practical knowledge of professional spa operations & occupancy planning.
  • Knowledge & understanding of Health Department and State licensing codes.
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive member relationships and provide outstanding customer service.
  • Ability to adapt to back and front of the house operations as required.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent multi-tasking skills.
  • Initiative, self-motivation, high degree of responsibility & team player.
  • Ability to effectively delegate.
  • Strong team building skills including ability to lead, train, cooperate and contribute as part of a team.
  • Committed to learning, personal growth, and continual process improvement.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Must be change adaptive, flexible, and empathetic.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites (Word, Excel and/or PowerPoint), Outlook and Spa Computer Systems.
  • Obtain CPR certification within 30 days of hire through Company training.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the development and execution of the overall vision and implementation of the strategic plan, including marketing initiatives, staffing, and staff training for spa & salon operations.
  • Responsible for all spa and salon retail products, maintaining inventory of supplies, equipment, and/or products.
  • Responsible for developing and meeting the budget and financial goals of the Spa.
  • Ensures compliance with all state licensing and health requirements.
  • Instills ownership and a sense of accountability in all staff through training, education, and goal setting; conducts regular staff meetings and training workshops.
  • Supervises and follows up on guest requests and comments.
  • Ensures the Spa is successfully positioned within the marketplace by understanding the operations of all applicable competitors.
  • Creates and manages a marketing strategy that attracts members, conference groups, and residents.
  • Ensures the successful integration of the Spa to the fitness facility.
  • Attracts and retains members by consistently providing excellent customer service.
  • Employs an approachable management style, including supervising and managing staff members, planning, assigning and directing work/projects, appraising performance, and setting annual individual/team goals.
  • Places high emphasis on the importance of the social element, including participation in planning and execution of club events as needed (e.g., Parent’s Night Out, Jazz By The Pool, Casino Night).
  • Participates in the Manager on Duty System and ensures appropriate supervisory coverage in the Spa at all times via the Manager on Duty (MOD) system.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
