About The Position

The Spa Attendant is responsible for completing all spa duties and maintaining the cleanliness of the locker rooms, common areas, and all areas related to the Health Club/Spa throughout their shift. This role involves greeting and treating Members and guests in a professional and friendly manner, adhering to established rules of engagement, and ensuring adequate stock of supplies. The attendant will also check and maintain the steam room, sauna, and/or pools for proper temperature and cleanliness, and promote teamwork through daily communication with other departments. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • One year experience in a similar environment
  • Must speak fluent English
  • Frequently standing up and moving about the facility
  • Carrying or lifting items weighing up to 25 pounds
  • Handling objects, products and equipment
  • Communication skills are utilized a significant amount of time when interacting with clients and guests.
  • Reading and writing abilities are utilized often.
  • Basic math skills are used frequently.
  • Follow safe work procedures as outlined in departmental policy and procedures manuals, including the use of personal protective equipment
  • Know and comply with all Occupational Health & Safety regulations, as per the Occupational Health & Safety Act and Ministry of Labour
  • Report all injuries or illnesses to supervisor or manager immediately
  • Participate in Joint Health & Safety Committee by bringing health and safety concerns or issues to the attention of the committee
  • Review and be aware of all sections of the Health and Safety Manual

Responsibilities

  • Check all supplies at the beginning of each shift to ensure adequate stock and replenish from the stock room as necessary.
  • Check steam room, sauna, and/or pools for proper temperature and cleanliness, adjusting or cleaning as necessary.
  • Promote team work and quality service through daily communications and coordination with other departments.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
