About The Position

The Spa Attendant is responsible for maintaining, organizing, and cleaning all necessary items and areas within the Spa. This role ensures that all guest supplies are restocked and that all areas are continuously monitored for cleanliness. The position requires adherence to safety protocols, including wearing Personal Protective Equipment when recommended, and operating vehicles safely. The attendant must identify and report safety hazards, maintain a clean and professional appearance, and demonstrate excellent customer service skills by learning and applying the Mohonk Mountain House Service Steps. A flexible schedule, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays, is necessary. The role involves physical tasks such as reaching, bending, kneeling, stooping, twisting, walking, standing for extended periods, lifting, carrying, and maneuvering carts. Visual acuity and the ability to work under stress are also required. Specific duties include cleaning designated areas, folding laundry, operating laundry equipment, sorting laundry, completing shift checklists, sanitizing touch points, inspecting work, reporting damaged items, and completing guest requests. The attendant must also attend daily briefings and perform routine and deep cleaning as needed, including sanitizing hydrotherapy tubs and stocking various areas. Effective communication in English, both verbal and written, and the ability to hear instructions are essential. The role also requires acting calmly in emergencies, analyzing problems, and demonstrating high moral character in handling lost items.

Requirements

  • Valid Driver’s License
  • At least 21 years of age
  • At least two years of licensed driving experience
  • Ability to speak, read and write the English language
  • Ability to communicate in a clear and congenial manner
  • Ability to hear verbal instructions, directions and warnings
  • Ability to act calmly and effectively in emergency situations
  • Ability to analyze problems and develop and implement action plans

Responsibilities

  • Maintains, organizes, and cleans all necessary items and areas in the Spa.
  • Ensures all supplies guests use are restocked.
  • Continuously monitors all areas for cleanliness.
  • Wears Proper Protective Equipment when performing tasks that recommend such equipment.
  • Operates vehicles safely while driving and/or parking in compliance with Mohonk Mountain House Traffic Rules and Regulations.
  • Identifies safety hazards, reports them, and follows up to see that corrective action is taken.
  • Informs supervisor of hazardous situations, emergencies, or threats to the security of guests, employees, or hotel assets.
  • Demonstrates organizational skills.
  • Works productively with or without supervision when performing routine tasks.
  • Prioritizes and meets deadlines in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
  • Adheres to Mohonk Mountain House’s Dress and Grooming Standards; presenting a neat, clean and well groomed appearance and maintaining a positive, professional image to our customers.

  • Maintains a flexible work schedule including days/nights, weekdays/weekends, holidays, and during peak periods of business.

  • Attends events, programs, and trainings as needed to enforce and support Mohonk Mountain House policies and culture.
  • Attends trainings as needed to develop work knowledge and safety.
  • Reaches with hands and arms, bends, kneels, stoops, twists and flexes arms, walks up and down stairs/inclines, sits, climbs up/down ladders or stands for up to 5 hours at a time.
  • Lifts up to 50 pounds from ground level to four feet and carries a distance of up to 50 feet with/without assistance.
  • Walks up to 3 miles per day.
  • Maneuvers carts or dollies safely with loads up to 200 pounds through passageways, elevators, or outdoors up to 100 feet.
  • Sees close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Works under stress from contact with public, demanding deadlines, and changing priorities and conditions.
  • Cleans designated areas according to set guidelines and protocols.
  • Works outdoors and is exposed to natural elements.
  • Folds laundry as specified to type ranging from small items such as washcloths to large blankets and towels.
  • Operates laundry equipment effectively and within specified guidelines.
  • Sorts soiled laundry appropriately and efficiently.
  • Completes shift check list for duties assigned for opening or closing shifts.
  • Sanitizes touch point areas wearing appropriate protective equipment and completes check list daily.
  • Inspects the work of others by touch, sight, sound and smell for conformance to prescribed standards.
  • Reports damaged or missing furnishings or decorative items.
  • Completes guest and staff requests in a timely manner. Reports to a supervisor if a request will not be completed in a timely manner.
  • Attends daily shift briefing.
  • Completes routine and when necessary deep cleaning of areas as required.
  • Sanitizes hydrotherapy tub as needed following protocols and wearing protective equipment.
  • Stocks tea bars, guest locker room amenities, supply closets, and towel storage as assigned.
  • Speaks, reads and writes the English language and communicates in a clear and congenial manner, with guests, visitors and employees.
