About The Position

To assist the supervisor in accomplishing production requirements per company, customer and government requirements. This role also serves as a mentor to new team members, orientating them to their jobs including basic dress requirements and good manufacturing practices, safety aspects, job assignments and sanitation procedures and policies. The lead communicates with team members, supervisors, management, QA and USDA regarding any information about the line they are working on. They are responsible for completing required written and electronic reports and assisting with timekeeping management of line/department employees (schedule rotations, breaks, etc.). The lead sets up equipment for the line daily for start-up, ensuring standards and quality are met within the department, and works on the line with product, monitoring belts to ensure the proper speed is set. They ensure that goals are met daily and help set new goals and improve morale within the department through organizational skills and compliance with USDA. As a member of the Team, the lead fosters strong cohesiveness regarding all major issues such as direction, annual plan, budget, and policy changes. They accept responsibility to quickly identify any areas that lack cohesiveness, bringing them to the attention of the team leader and working with the team in a supportive manner to resolve issues and actively look for ways to achieve synergy within the larger organization. The lead is familiar with Simmons' established operating systems (e.g., quality, security, office environment, company policies) and understands the responsibility to maintain familiarity with these systems and this position's role in support of them, including the impact of individual actions and the responsibility to communicate concerns and improvement ideas. Requirements

Frequent lifting/carrying of up to 50 pounds depending on the department; standing; bending & twisting of the waist and neck; squatting; climbing stairs & ladders; kneeling; crawling; power grasping; pushing/pulling; reaching above, at and below shoulder level; repetitive motion of shoulders, arms and hands.
Constant walking; grasping; fine manipulation/feeling with hands; use of vision & hearing; talking.
Waterproof gloves, sleeves, waterproof slip resistant footwear and ear plugs.
May need to obtain and maintain a company issued forklift and pallet jack license.
Must be able to communicate from team member to upper management.
Must maintain a positive attitude.
Be able to do various jobs, multitask.
Must have the ability to make good decisions and communicate effectively with others and leadership team.
