About The Position

The A220 commercial aircraft Programme is looking for an Engineering Specialist, DevOps and Simulation tool support for Flight Control development (f/m) to join our Aircraft Control team based in Mirabel (Québec, Canada), where you will work in collaboration with the European Flight Control development teams based in France and Germany. You will be part of the Flight Control development team responsible for developing the A220 Primary and Secondary Flight Control System. The team organization is established to promote cross-collaboration autonomously, supporting each other and learning collectively. Your role as DevOps and Simulation tool support for Flight Control development will be to contribute to the development of the A220 primary flight control system FBW. This includes the DevOps tool support and the development of a flight control simulation platform. These activities are carried out in collaboration with our European counterparts within the Airbus Group to leverage lessons learned from other Airbus platforms.

Requirements

  • University degree in Engineering or Information System or equivalent from a recognized University.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the aerospace industry.
  • Good knowledge of the specification, design, integration, test and certification of flight control systems and/or its components.
  • Good organizational & planning skills.
  • Experience in simulation with Matlab software and Simulink.
  • Strong communication skills in French and English (written and spoken).
  • Team player who is also able to work individually and deliver quality results, even in challenging environments.
  • Ability to obtain a clearance for export controlled documents.

Nice To Haves

  • You are proactive and have an interest in the aerospace industry and systems integration.
  • Experience with the A220 flight control system, primary or secondary (considered as an asset).
  • Knowledge of model based development engineering (MBSE) (considered as an asset).

Responsibilities

  • Support the aircraft control systems designers by providing quick and reactive solutions. The main actors are handling qualities specialists, control laws designers, aircraft control systems designers (including primary flight controls, hydraulics, actuators, high lift),
  • Lead the development and the integration of a simulation platform for the development and V&V of A220 flight control systems,
  • Assist aircraft control domain users in introduction of new tools
  • Coordinate with Airbus Toulouse Modeling and Simulation CoC on development needs for the A220 aircraft control domain
  • Capture development needs from aircraft control domain stakeholders
  • Developing/updating models and simulation application according to the planning
  • Propose and adapt MBSE solutions for developments
  • Take into account continuous integration in modeling framework,
  • Ensure the implementation of the methods harmonized within the aircraft control domain,
  • Disseminate the new methods or tools to the aircraft control domain users,
  • Manage relationships with internal (Airbus) and external stakeholders (subcontractors),
  • Maintain a technological watch.
