About The Position

The Site Lean Leader is responsible for leading the definition of the strategic plan and the execution of Lean initiatives across the site. This role drives process improvements by partnering with functional leaders in manufacturing, sourcing, quality, engineering, services, installation, and suppliers to establish a customer-based process improvement strategy. This strategy aims to enhance customer responsiveness, reduce lead times, and improve quality in alignment with business and functional objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college.
  • Minimum of 10 additional years of experience in Lean manufacturing implementation, cultural changes, barriers/behaviors overcome.
  • Fluent English and French are necessary.
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate others and achieve results.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills; statistically literate and familiar with Lean Six Sigma quality concepts and tools.
  • Demonstrated commitment for process improvement.
  • Worked in a Supply Chain business or any other industrial segment with a mature Lean thinking and behavior.
  • Customer-focused in defining quality and establishing priorities.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Experience working within an international group and smaller structures.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills: ability to work with multidisciplinary teams, ability to work with different cultures, ability to negotiate and influence managers, communication skills.
  • Autonomy: interventions and coaching often performed autonomously; time management adapted to different operational and geographical constraints, if applicable.
  • Due to the nature of the activity and the diversity of stakeholders (from operational staff to segment CEOs), possesses strong adaptability and persuasion skills, communication.

Responsibilities

  • Lead process improvements in partnership with functional managers (sourcing, quality, engineering, commercial, services, installation, and suppliers) to establish a customer-focused process improvement strategy.
  • Collaborate with senior management to assess current baselines and determine framework processes to be improved using Lean methodologies.
  • Define the vision and translate it into goals, objectives, and strategies, resulting in cross-functional cultural change that delivers consistent, year-over-year results.
  • Provide leadership and direction as a strategic business partner to Manufacturing and Commercial business processes to scope and analyze Lean opportunities across the business.
  • Drive waste reduction and process improvements in transactional areas within the Manufacturing function (planning, energy management, health and safety, etc.).
  • Develop Lean Manufacturing domain expertise and infrastructure in the Hydro Power sector for Canada, Sorel-Tracy shop.
  • Support the simplification of complex processes and manage cross-functional relationships to support business impact.
  • Provide key output data, metrics, and presentations for reporting, operational reviews, and business communications.
  • Support the establishment of Masterplans and the implementation of Strategy Deployment using the “Hoshin Kanri” approach, when applicable.
  • Manage and deploy external consulting resources as needed to support the execution of business roadmaps.
  • Share best practices across respective regions and act as a conduit to accelerate cross-business progress.
