SOX IT Consultant
About The Position
Growth in Withum's Risk Advisory practice has created an opportunity for an IT SOX Auditor/Consultant. This role involves performing IT General controls consulting, controls walkthroughs, and testing the operating effectiveness of controls to support ongoing SOX consulting and audit engagements for a diverse client base. The clients are in the technology, manufacturing, and financial services industries. The position is hybrid, requiring 3 days in the office per week, and can be based in several U.S. office locations including New York, NY; Princeton, NJ; Whippany, NJ; East Brunswick NJ; Red Bank, NJ; Saddle Brook, NJ; and Buffalo, NY. Requirements
- BA/BS in Computer Science, Information Systems Administration or related field
- 1 to 2 years of experience on ITGC audit/consulting with a public accounting firm
- Effective client service and communication skills, both verbal and written
- Knowledge of IT general controls, operating systems, databases
- Desire and ability to work in a team environment
Nice To Haves
- Possession of, or desire to, obtain CISA or other equivalent certifications
Responsibilities
- Performing IT General controls consulting
- Performing controls walkthroughs
- Testing the operating effectiveness of controls
- Process walkthroughs, testing, and documentation of various IT General Controls including Access, Change Management, Computer Operations, etc.
- Obtaining, analyzing and appraising evidentiary data
- Drawing informed objective opinions as to the adequacy and effectiveness of IT controls
- Preparing work papers summarizing evidentiary data obtained and conclusions reached
- Identify and evaluate complex business and technology risks, internal controls which mitigate risks, and related opportunities for internal control improvement
- Facilitate use of technology-based tools and methodologies to assess the design and operating effectiveness of controls and implement services
- Adapt to the ever-changing compliance landscape and keep abreast with the latest IT threats, mitigation Techniques, etc.
