About The Position

This internship is designed to help students learn how large financial services companies support reliable financial reporting, protect clients, and manage risk. The Sarbanes-Oxley Compliance Office (SCO) helps Schwab evaluate key business and technology controls that support accurate financial reporting and the protection of client assets. The SCO’s assessments include work related to Internal Control over Financial Reporting (ICFR) for SOX and FDICIA, and Internal Control over Compliance (ICOC) for SEA Rule 17a-5. Interns will have the opportunity to work with SCO Business Process and IT testing specialists to explore different parts of the assessment process. They will participate in walkthrough meetings, help review documentation and evidence, complete testing and issue analysis, and contribute to reporting testing results. This experience will provide a realistic view of the day-to-day work of full-time SCO employees and help interns understand if a career with Schwab and the SCO is a good fit.
