About The Position

Inspiration Brewing Co. is a brand-new restaurant looking for a Sous Chef to help build something special from the ground up. This is a chance to get in on the ground floor of a new culinary program, not just executing an existing menu, but helping create it. Working closely with the Executive Chef, you will play a hands-on role in shaping the kitchen's identity: developing menu items, building out kitchen systems and standards, and helping assemble and train the team. This is not a cookie-cutter line cook job; it's an opportunity to help build a kitchen from day one.

Requirements

Minimum 5 years of full-service restaurant cooking experience
Experience working in a high-volume kitchen
Comfort and confidence across all stations of the line
A collaborative mindset — this role is as much about building a team and a program as it is about cooking
Strong communication skills and the ability to lead by example during busy service

Nice To Haves

Previous experience as a Sous Chef or Kitchen Manager
Experience with ordering and inventory management
ServSafe Manager Certificate

Responsibilities

Collaborate with the Executive Chef on menu development and help shape the overall culinary program
Play an active role in hiring cooks, and help train and develop the kitchen team alongside the Executive Chef
Work all stations on the line — be comfortable moving wherever the kitchen needs you
Handle prep work to keep the kitchen stocked and ready for service
Run expo, keeping tickets accurate and food moving smoothly to the floor
Open and close the kitchen, including all associated checklists and procedures
Help maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen that runs at a high standard night after night
Step in as a leader on the line when the Executive Chef isn't present
