About The Position

Aramark Nexus is hiring experienced Sous Chefs who are interested in bringing their culinary experience to the Caprock Workforce Community in the Texas Panhandle. This role requires relocation to Caprock near Pampa, Texas, and free on-site housing and meals are provided. As a Sous Chef at Caprock, you will help lead daily culinary operations in a high-volume dining environment serving a large residential workforce community. This is a hands-on culinary leadership role focused on food quality, production, team development, food safety, and consistent execution. We welcome applications from experienced Sous Chefs, Executive Sous Chefs, Kitchen Managers, Culinary Supervisors, and experienced Lead Cooks with backgrounds in resorts, hotels, theme parks, convention operations, universities, casinos, contract dining, catering, and other high-volume culinary environments.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of professional culinary experience preferred.
  • Previous experience as a Sous Chef, Executive Sous Chef, Kitchen Manager, Culinary Supervisor, Lead Cook, or similar culinary leadership role.
  • Experience in a high-volume kitchen or food service operation strongly preferred.
  • Strong culinary fundamentals and knowledge of food production.
  • Experience supervising, training, or leading kitchen employees.
  • Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, storage, and proper food handling procedures.
  • Experience with inventory, ordering, production planning, and food cost controls preferred.
  • Culinary degree or professional culinary training preferred but not required.
  • ServSafe or similar food safety certification preferred.
  • Must be willing to relocate to and work on-site at the Caprock Workforce Community near Pampa, Texas.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and varying shifts based on operational needs.

Responsibilities

  • Support daily culinary and kitchen operations in a high-volume dining environment.
  • Lead cooks and culinary employees during preparation and meal service.
  • Maintain standards for food quality, presentation, portioning, and recipe execution.
  • Coordinate food production to meet required meal volumes and service times.
  • Train, coach, and develop culinary team members.
  • Maintain food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards.
  • Assist with ordering, receiving, inventory, storage, and product rotation.
  • Monitor food waste and support food cost and production controls.
  • Assist with scheduling and daily labor deployment.
  • Partner with culinary and food service leadership to maintain consistent execution.
  • Provide visible, hands-on leadership and step into production as needed.
  • Help create a positive dining experience for residents and guests throughout the Caprock community.
