About The Position

The Sous Chef is responsible for the proper preparation of the planned menu in the absence of the Executive Chef and assists in the supervision of all kitchen employees maintaining a positive, courteous work environment for staff and residents. This position will be required to work weekends and a schedule of 10:30am-7pm.

Requirements

• Ability to understand and follow instructions in English and communicate effectively, and perform simple arithmetic.
• Ability to understand measurements and conversions.
• Two to three years’ experience in a hotel, restaurant, or club with fine dining preferred.
• Ability to plan and organize work, to interpret instructions, recipes, specifications and standards.
• Knowledge of kitchen equipment operations and maintenance.
• Some knowledge of nutrition and diet.
• Ability to understand and follow instructions in English, communicates effectively, and performs simple arithmetic.
• Ability to understand measurements and conversions.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent interpersonal and social skills in order to work effectively with residents, families, visitors, peers, supervisors, and other outside contacts.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Culinary education and supervisory background desirable.
• Health Care experience desirable.
• Serve Safe Certification a plus
