About The Position

Our restaurant TAP is searching for a passionate Sous Chef to join our fast-paced kitchen team! Here at TAP, we serve up delicious comfort food and pub classics, from our famous TAP Classic Burger and savory wings to the crowd-pleasing Detroit House Nachos. Your contributions will help create an unforgettable dining experience for our guests, who can enjoy their favorite sports games on over 40 HD flat-screen televisions. Requirements
- Two years of similar food and beverage, chef, and cooking experience
- Ability to work a varied shift to include weekends, holidays, and evenings
Nice To Haves
- Culinary associate's degree or equivalent work experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Oversee product consistency and make necessary modifications according to business needs
- Multifaceted decision making in collaboration with the Chef and Department Executives, including but not limited to proper ordering, guest assistance, and working with the front of the house
- Manage employee payroll, scheduling, training, and discipline
- Conduct training for Master cooks, cooks, pantry workers, helpers and kitchen workers on job responsibilities
- Assist Executive Room Chef by controlling food and labor costs, establish goals, and objectives that focus on profit, product and people
- Assist in overseeing kitchen-related activities pertaining to the normal operation of the restaurant, menu and staff
- Create, read, measure and execute recipes and new daily specials
