About The Position

The Embassy Suites at Miami International Airport is seeking a Sous Chef who is capable and interested in becoming an Executive Chef within the first year. This role offers outstanding mentorship into the Executive Chef position and an opportunity to jump-start a career as a professional Chef with Hilton Hotels. The property is a 318 all-suite hotel with 12,000 square feet of banquet space, in addition to a full-service restaurant and lounge.

Requirements

At least 2 years of culinary leadership experience in a high-volume restaurant setting.
Demonstration of Hilton's Values: Hospitality, Integrity, Leadership, Teamwork, Ownership, Now.

Nice To Haves

Hotel background is highly preferred.
Capable and interested in becoming an Executive Chef within the first year.

Responsibilities

Assist the Executive Chef in the direction and oversight of all culinary operations, including preparation and production of all hotel meals, food quality and presentation, compliance with all safety and sanitation standards and regulations, team member productivity and performance, implementation of policies and procedures, cost controls, and overall profitability.
Create and implement menu selections for special banquet themes and events based on current food trends and regional tastes in partnership with the Executive Chef and Director of Food and Beverage, as needed.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and company health, safety, sanitation, and alcohol awareness standards.
Assist in monitoring and developing team member performance, including providing supervision, conducting counseling and assisting with evaluations, training, scheduling, assigning work, and delivering recognition and reward.
