Requirements
- 2 years in a Sous Chef or similar kitchen leadership role, with experience supervising line cooks, prep teams, and service execution.
- Valid Food Handler Certification and TABC Certification required.
- Experience with inventory management, ordering, waste reduction, and basic food and labor cost controls.
- Demonstrated ability to lead line cooks and prep teams, provide hands-on training, and support daily kitchen execution.
- Demonstrated proficiency with kitchen management and operational systems, including inventory platforms, scheduling tools, and standard business applications.
Responsibilities
- Support the Executive Chef in daily kitchen operations by coordinating service execution, prep production, and staffing to ensure smooth, efficient shifts.
- Step in to lead all kitchen operations during the Executive Chef’s absence
- Maintain consistency, quality, and presentation of all menu items by enforcing recipes, portion control, and plating standards
- Uphold food safety, sanitation, and health code compliance by monitoring proper food handling, cleanliness, and kitchen procedures
- Manage inventory, ordering, and food storage to maintain accurate pars, control waste, and ensure product freshness
- Lead, train, and motivate kitchen staff through hands-on coaching, clear expectations, and consistent accountability
- Enforce an organized, efficient kitchen that meets company and health department standards
- Monitor food quality, ticket times, and service flow during peak periods
