About The Position

The Post is looking for a talented, driven, and enthusiastic Sous Chef. This role requires a leader who respects the food and the team, can follow instructions and surpass expectations, and act as the Chef when the head Chef is off. The ideal candidate will possess the professional skills and acumen to lead a team, build culture, and consistently execute delicious food. A strong commitment to the highest standards of quality, consistency, flavor, plating, and overall deliciousness is essential. The Sous Chef will be efficient, clean, and instrumental in driving the restaurant to greatness, with the potential to eventually become the Chef. The Post is a community gathering place focused on fried chicken and great beers, aiming to provide an environment for friends and family to connect and enjoy themselves.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years in a food preparation position
  • Basic finance skills with an understanding of weekly budgets, costed menus and schedules
  • Working knowledge of POS/Toast, Scheduling Software, Excel (spreadsheets), Google Suite and Electronic Order Entry
  • ServSafe Manager Certified (training provided)
  • Ability to handle the requirements of a Sous Chef's job which includes bending, reaching, standing for long periods of time and carrying and lifting heavy and really hot stuff
  • Stamina to work five 8-9 hour shifts per week
  • Flexibility to work nights, weekends and holidays
  • Integrity, intelligence, honesty and a willingness to learn, dig in, and be world famous
