About The Position

Responsible for the supervision and preparation of food items to ensure optimum flavor, texture, appearance, temperature and nutritional value for patients, patrons and catering guests. Ensures proper food handling and sanitary procedures in accordance with health standards.

Requirements

  • HS/GED
  • Food preparation experience with at least one year in a supervisory capacity preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in food preparation.
  • Inspects supplies, equipment and work areas to ensure conformance to established standards.
  • Acts in compliance with federal and state sanitary regulations as well as faculty infection control guidelines and dietary procedures.
  • Prepares food items to meet high quality standards and appropriate deadlines.
  • Assures adherence to menus including those for special diets.
  • Practices proper food handling procedures at all times while maintaining a clean and hazard free work area including floors and surrounding areas.
  • Covers, labels date, handles and stores all foods according to health regulatory standards, including dry and frozen products and meats.
  • Utilizes leftovers in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Maximizes production of the respective production areas.
  • Rotates supplies and maintains an orderly inventory as par level.
  • Other duties as assigned.
