About The Position
Morrison Living is hiring immediately for a full time SOUS CHEF position. This role involves assisting the Executive Chef in preparing and cooking food, coordinating the activities of other kitchen staff, and assuming responsibility for the kitchen in the Executive Chef's absence. The ideal candidate will be passionate about hospitality and culinary excellence, creating memorable dining experiences.
Requirements
- Prior healthcare culinary experience required.
Responsibilities
- Cooks and prepares food following approved recipes and production standards, ensuring all deadlines are met.
- Supervises hourly food service associates, including interviewing, scheduling, payroll, training, counseling, and participating in reviews.
- Stores food in designated areas following all corporate, state, and federal food safety and sanitation procedures.
- Ensures proper food handling, presentation, portion control, and maintenance of appropriate serving temperatures.
- Maintains sanitation of equipment, supplies, and utensils, and cleans workstation thoroughly.
- Keeps display equipment clean and free of debris during meal service.
- Interacts with customers to resolve complaints in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
- Demonstrates complete understanding of daily menu items and accurately explains them.
- Keeps up with peak production and service hours.
- Monitors inventory and deliveries of product and supplies, tracks product production, consumption, and waste, and informs supervisor when supplies are low.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
