About The Position

We are hiring for full-time and part-time Sous Chef/Lead Cook positions for one of our retail locations on Queen's University Campus with Aramark Canada Ltd. Requirements

  • 2+ years culinary experience regardless of industry
  • Experience in leadership role, either individual contributor or people manager
  • Valid WHMIS and Food Safe (Basic or Advanced), First Aid Certification is an asset
  • Knowledge of and commitment to upholding high standards of food safety and hygiene
  • Skilled in task prioritization and time management
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently supervised and unsupervised
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a genuine desire to provide outstanding customer service
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team, collaborating with colleagues to ensure smooth operations

Nice To Haves

  • First Aid Certification is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate the work of others, without direct performance management responsibilities
  • Assist with day to day administrative duties as required to maintain a location, and staffing requirements
  • Maintain records of food costs, consumption, sales and inventory
  • Demonstrate new cooking techniques and new equipment to cooking staff
  • Supervise activities of cooks and other kitchen workers
  • Create new recipes in collaboration with campus Executive Chef
  • Instruct team members in preparation, cooking, garnishing and presentation of food
  • Supervise cooks and other kitchen staff
  • Plan menus and ensure food meets quality standards
  • Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances
  • Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food
  • Leading/instructing individuals
  • Maintains excellent customer service and positive demeanor towards guest, customers, clients, co-workers, etc.
  • Adheres to Aramark safety policies and procedures including accurate food safety and sanitation
  • Ensures security of company assets

Benefits

  • The pay range for this position is $23.50 - $23.50.
