About The Position

The Sourcing Specialist is responsible for implementing sourcing plans and tactics to effectively manage the sourcing activities related to their assigned portfolio to maximize supplier performance (cost, quality, lead time) and support the business plan in the GeoUnit. This role involves implementing sourcing plans with the goal of assuring specified quality, meeting required delivery times, and minimizing cost. The specialist will document the performance of action plans and timelines for assigned sourcing projects, select a high-performance supply base for their assigned portfolio in accordance with a short-list of preferred suppliers defined by Category Managers, and conduct requests for information, quotation, information, proposal (RFI/Q/P) and bidding processes, minimizing risk and maximizing value in terms of quality, delivery and cost. Additionally, they will evaluate current and prospective suppliers through supplier reviews, site visits and audits, in coordination with Supplier Quality teams, to assure supply capabilities, on-time delivery, quality and service. The role also includes negotiating prices and terms with suppliers, executing contract negotiation and development in coordination with Sourcing Manager and Contract Specialists, and driving parts and process qualification in coordination with Supplier Quality teams. The Sourcing Specialist will work closely with the Sourcing Manager or Sourcing Leader to guarantee supply for portfolios and identify opportunities and implement actions to continually reduce wasted time, money, and resources from assigned tasks. Compliance with Schlumberger and local procedures applicable to the job function is also required.

Requirements

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate strong problem-solving skills with rapid solution development.
  • Comfortable using a variety of systems and adaptable to learning new software and technologies as needed.
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • A four-year (bachelor’s) degree is preferred.
  • Previous experience in machined parts or manufacturing is preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities
