About The Position

Accountable for executing & optimizing the sourcing solutions of the end-to-end supply chain with a time horizon focus of 1-5 years. This role will also collaborate with the Sourcing Manager to assist in developing supply chain solutions for new product development projects, make vs. buy decisions, global external capacity additions, risk mitigation assessments, and support of business growth objectives. This individual must develop and nurture relationships at all levels of the organization, as well as suppliers & strategic partners – focusing on New Product Development (NPD), outsourcing options, business continuity planning, cost optimized solutions, and future business needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in supply chain, technical or business
  • CPM / CPSM or APICS (US); CIPS or IOM (UK) or regional equivalent
  • 5 years experienced across all Procurement process disciplines, including spend category management, market and cost analysis, negotiations, supplier selection, supplier performance service level, agreements/performance metric, supplier value management
  • Requires high degree of problem solving and decision-making ability
  • Ability to think strategically
  • Ability to interpret technical needs into supply chain solutions
  • Must be able to interface with customers and suppliers externally and interface with multiple disciplines internally.
  • Familiarity with ERP software required

  • Global Supply Chain experience preferred
  • Preference given to candidates with SAP experience

Responsibilities

  • Lead supplier identification, development, negotiations, cost analysis and selection in support of long-term business needs.
  • Assist in the development and implement supply chain strategies that enhance competitive advantage for both Greene Tweed and its customers.
  • Interface with key internal functions (product management, project management, manufacturing, advanced technology, engineering, sales, quality & finance) to ensure functional alignment with new product development & business growth needs.
  • Implement the placement of purchase orders in support new product development projects (pre-stage gate to stage gate 3) as required to support the overall development and growth strategies.
  • Implement and manage CapEX purchase orders timely, effectively and cost advantaged for reliable new equipment receipt.
  • Lead the development of risk mitigation and outsourcing recommendation strategies, and assist with contract negotiations.
  • Perform risk analysis of proposed procurements, ensuring business continuity though the development of appropriate mitigation plans.
  • Collects market intelligence and develops profiles for key suppliers, in support of material market trend analysis
  • Collaborate with finance to assess make vs. buy supply options and develop recommendations to the business.
  • Provide long-term forecasts to key suppliers based on historical consumption and future growth projections.
  • Enforce strategic inventory policies and procedures to achieve inventory turn objectives.
  • Implement value stream mapping, risk assessments and effectively deploy lean manufacturing tools and techniques.
  • Contribute to and/or participate in the integrated business planning processes, maintaining a comprehensive understanding of the complete end-to-end supply chain.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement (CI) on procurement processes.
