About The Position

The Sourcing Specialist develops and executes strategic sourcing initiatives for direct material categories in a manufacturing environment. The role identifies and manages suppliers, optimizes cost and quality, mitigates supply risk, and aligns sourcing strategies with business and operational objectives. It also supports supplier development, procurement processes, sourcing projects, and continuous improvement efforts.

Requirements

At least 3 years of strategic sourcing experience, preferably in manufacturing or an industrial environment.
Experience sourcing direct materials, mechanical components, or other production-related commodities.
Experience with supplier negotiations, including commercial terms and long-term agreements.
Hands-on experience with contract negotiation and contract management.
Experience with supplier development and supplier performance management.
Experience in direct procurement, purchasing, strategic sourcing, and vendor management.
Strong understanding of supply chain principles and strategic sourcing methodologies.
Ability to perform cost analysis, cost control, and Total Cost of Ownership assessments.
Experience conducting market analysis to evaluate pricing, supplier capabilities, and supply risks.
Experience managing RFQ, RFP, and RFI processes.
Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel for data analysis, reporting, and sourcing-related calculations.
Bachelor's degree required.
Experience supporting supplier quality, purchase order, and contract processes.
Ability to identify and mitigate supply-base risks.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement sourcing strategies for direct materials, mechanical components, and other critical production materials.
Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on cost, quality, capacity, performance, and supply reliability.
Manage supplier relationships and improve supplier performance through regular reviews and collaboration.
Lead supplier negotiations and support the development, execution, and management of contracts and supplier agreements.
Identify cost-reduction opportunities through market research, negotiations, and strategic sourcing initiatives.
Analyze markets and suppliers, including pricing trends, supplier capabilities, market conditions, and sourcing risks.
Partner with Engineering, Operations, Finance, and other teams to align sourcing strategies with business and operational needs.
Support Total Cost of Ownership analysis, inventory considerations, capacity analysis, and risk mitigation initiatives.
Ensure suppliers meet procurement, regulatory, confidentiality, sustainability, safety, and compliance requirements.
Identify and resolve supplier issues related to cost, quality, capacity, delivery, and performance.
Manage RFQ, RFP, and RFI processes and evaluate supplier proposals.
Support supplier development activities to improve supplier capabilities, quality, and reliability.
Collaborate on purchase order execution and contract administration to support accurate and timely procurement.
Use Microsoft Excel and data-driven analysis to support cost analysis, market analysis, and sourcing decisions.
Support sourcing initiatives, supplier transitions, and continuous improvement projects.
