About The Position

The primary function of this role is to work with our estimating team to gather costs for buyout items and outsource fabrication. Additionally, the role involves developing channels of supply at the lowest total cost, not just the lowest purchase price, from specification of part to receipt and payment of goods and/or services. This includes assessing and maintaining current quotations on vendor pricing and delivery for the manufacturing team, engineering, and the estimating group. The role also assists in establishing a wider vendor base (Domestic and foreign) of direct purchase and outsourcing.

Requirements

Strong analytical and decision-making ability
Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent work experience in related field
3+ years’ experience in Manufacturing Supply Chain and/or Sourcing
Knowledge and understanding of Manufacturing processes, Planning, Procurement, and Job Costing
Proficient with Excel, Word, Outlook

Nice To Haves

Production Equipment knowledge is a plus

Responsibilities

Costing and Sourcing for front end estimation and bid process
Assessment of the supply market
Total cost analysis of supplied components, sub-assemblies, or finished goods
Identification of suitable suppliers.
Development of a sourcing strategy (where to purchase, considering demand and supply situations, while minimizing risk and costs).
Work with vendors, estimating team, and engineering to identify possible alternatives before sending to production.
Gather quotations on key items from vendors and update into the system of record
Develop a reporting metric that can be maintained and updated weekly and monthly to show progress on individual projects and running totals
Serves as sprint capacity and a back up to the manufacturing procurement team
Ensuring adherence to policies, procedures, government regulations, and customer specifications
