We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Sourcing Specialist-Clinical. In this role, the successful candidate as the Sourcing Specialist position is responsible for providing strategic sourcing services on Clinical Product spend at NYU Langone Health. This position can be assigned to support any of the following clinical areas: Perioperative/Orthopedic, Percutaneous, Non-Procedural, Capital Equipment, or Med Surg. The Specialist will request, review, and execute quotes and contracts from start to finish. He/she will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders through both the planning and acquisition process. The Specialist will report to the Sourcing Manager.

Requirements

  • Minimum of two to three years Supply Chain experience, and preferably one (1) year in strategic sourcing responsibilities for various commodities, both products and services within and outside healthcare organizations.
  • High degree of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, etc).
  • Some knowledge of procurement/sourcing process.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to work with data in excel.
  • Organizational savvy.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to follow a process based on documented guidelines.
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management or related field.
  • Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 3 + years purchasing experience is required or significant experience of Purchasing functions in highly relevant role is acceptable.
  • Strong writing and oral communication skills.
  • Strong customer focus with a sense of urgency and high level of accountability.
  • Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

Nice To Haves

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus
  • Experience with purchasing systems and supply chain management technologies are preferred.
  • Ability to analyze, suggest and improve processes to improve total group efficiency and productivity

Responsibilities

  • Must possess the skills to interpret and analyze data both financially and qualitatively in order to present and interpret outcomes.
  • Must be able to explain and convey data to all end users.
  • Must be able to identify sourcing opportunities from data.
  • Supports Sourcing Manager in initiating and managing RFPs, based on standardization opportunities, and other related value adds.
  • Optimizes vendor relationships; maintains QBR calendar to periodically review supplier effectiveness.
  • Conducts negotiations with suppliers on pricing.
  • Develops terms and conditions that support our business requirements, including clearly defined service expectations on goods and specifications, performance measurement practices and shortfall remedies.
  • Acts as customer service support liaison.
  • Obtains requestor/end-user feedback to ensure alignment/expectations are consistent with their departmental goals.
  • Assists departments implement sourcing changes, especially if they move to a new supplier.
  • Will identify, implement and quantify strategic sourcing savings opportunities.
  • Seeks ways to improve business processes within (but not limited to) Supply Chain Department.
  • Gathers and interprets market and competitive intelligence through formal and informal processes.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
