About The Position

SpaceX is hiring a Sourcing Manager to support construction and facility-related projects for xAI datacenters, enabling production of customer-facing products while working closely with internal stakeholders. The role supports construction projects and capital purchases for construction and facilities organizations. The successful candidate will develop supplier partnerships and procurement strategies focused on value, cost, quality, and delivery in a fast-moving environment.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree and at least 5 years of experience in engineering, purchasing, contract negotiation, operations or supply chain management, master production scheduling, or construction, facilities, or industrial plant management; alternatively, at least 9 years of experience in one or more of those areas in lieu of a degree.
Ability to travel and communicate outside of work hours; travel of up to 20% of the work week may be required, including international travel.
Willingness to work long hours and weekends when needed to meet critical deadlines.
Must be able to meet SpaceX ITAR requirements: be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. lawful permanent resident, refugee or asylee, or eligible to obtain required U.S. Department of State authorizations.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement a comprehensive contract management process with internal stakeholders to support successful project execution.
Develop and execute equipment and services procurement strategies, especially for construction projects.
Perform market analysis and determine should-costs to secure favorable purchasing terms for equipment and services.
Create and negotiate contract documents in collaboration with the legal department.
Track and report projected and actual spending, assess budgetary risks, and provide budget analysis for management decisions.
Manage vendor relationships, communication, contract adherence, and performance or delivery issue resolution.
Present value propositions to SpaceX management relating to contract awards, cost reviews, cost reduction strategies, and critical supply issues.
Identify and execute cost-reduction projects, including planning, stakeholder coordination, completion estimates, and project updates.
Conduct quantitative and business process analyses to identify financial impacts, cost improvements, and category performance.
Create and implement programs to develop and continuously improve the supply base, manage supplier performance, and monitor KPIs.
Lead and execute requests for proposals for defined categories or assigned internal areas.
Place purchase orders and resolve blocked invoices for assigned categories.
Develop and lead efforts to reduce the number of transactions.
