About The Position

The Global Supplier Management (GSM) team enables Cisco to redefine the industry by delivering an edge through technology innovation, strategic supplier relationships, and cost excellence. Within this group, the Strategic Silicon Sourcing team works closely with technology and business leaders to drive and source silicon solutions for Cisco's next-generation products. We are a team that tackles sophisticated technical and business challenges to power the future of connectivity. In this role, you will develop and execute the Commodity Strategy to support Cisco's hardware infrastructure. You will work closely with Hardware Design Engineers to provide technical expertise and market insights while orchestrating roadmap reviews between Engineering and suppliers. This is an exciting opportunity to strike the right balance between supply continuity, cost, and delivery, ultimately driving value engineering through ideation and execution.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in a similar role or field with a bachelor's degree in Business or Engineering.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing complex business strategies.
  • Working knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing processes.
  • Knowledge of microprocessor technology, features, development cycles, and marketplace dynamics.
  • Experience with technology/component risk rating and mitigation planning.

Nice To Haves

  • Expertise in negotiation, conflict resolution, and building strong internal/external relationships.
  • Proven ability to be analytical, influence senior stakeholders, and solve complex situations.
  • Experience in supply chain operations and semiconductor component quality management.
  • Background in Marketing, Sales, or Engineering within the Semiconductor industry.
  • Familiarity with standard bodies (e.g., IEEE, ITU) and architecture (Processor/Multimedia).

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute comprehensive commodity strategies for silicon solutions.
  • Investigate and source next-generation chip technology.
  • Align and influence engineering teams on product roadmaps and strategic initiatives.
  • Provide technical expertise and market trend analysis to internal partners.
  • Drive value engineering through proactive ideation and cross-functional execution.
  • Lead and orchestrate roadmap reviews to ensure alignment between business requirements and supplier capabilities.
