About The Position

The Cisco Global Supplier Management (GSM) team is seeking a motivated Technical Sourcing Commodity Manager for the PCB commodity. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams and suppliers on early technology sensing and sourcing engagement across Cisco engineering teams. The team works closely with hardware design engineering, component engineering, manufacturing, and suppliers to develop next-generation products, including those for AI. They engage with industry-leading PCB suppliers to develop technology roadmaps aligned with Cisco's Next Generation Technology development, aiming to deliver cutting-edge technologies at a competitive price. The role requires providing industry knowledge (PCB, sub-tiers) and understanding of market trends (cost, technology, supply chain design, etc.).

Requirements

  • BS or equivalent with 10+ years of relevant experience (could be a combination of engineering design with business strategy experience).
  • PCB product manufacturing, Laminate technology, and industry experience is a must.
  • Technical knowledge relevant to PCB technologies (Line Card, Backplane, Rigid/Flex/HDI, Laminates, Glass cloth).

Responsibilities

  • Define and set strategic direction.
  • Collaborate with Business Unit partners to understand long-term requirements, mapping requirements into supply base offerings, roadmap gap closure, and facilitating optimal component selection.
  • Responsible for implementing sourcing decisions, risk assessment/mitigation, and alternate technical solution development.
  • Be responsible for large, complex programs consisting of multiple locations and Business Units.
  • Independently resolve large-scale project issues and manage appropriate partner concerns within Cisco as necessary.
  • International travel might be required.
