About The Position

Dover Food Retail is seeking a Sourcing Category Manager to lead strategic sourcing for business-critical bought-out refrigeration categories, including evaporators, gas coolers, and condensing units. The role has nationwide scope, supports the Conyers, Georgia plant and customers across multiple countries, and owns approximately $80 million in annual spend. The manager develops and executes sourcing strategies in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial organization.

The role includes creating comprehensive category strategies, leading market tests and requests for quotes, negotiating supplier contracts, managing supplier risk, consolidating SKUs and suppliers, optimizing the supply base, evaluating make-or-buy decisions, and supporting global or regional expansion. The position reports to the Systems division Senior Sourcing Manager and works with Dover Corporate Sourcing, engineering, procurement, finance, suppliers, and business stakeholders. Travel is typically up to 25%, primarily domestic.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, engineering, or another relevant discipline.
• At least 5 years of sourcing or negotiation experience.
• Experience leading and facilitating cross-functional teams through influence and expertise under tight time and cost pressures.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Program-management skills, including holding oneself and others accountable for timelines.
• High energy and self-motivation.
• A strong sense of urgency balanced with process compliance.
• Expertise and experience in contract negotiations.
• Ability to apply a systematic, disciplined approach to technical product sourcing to maximize value in a fast-paced, decentralized environment.
• Working knowledge of supply-chain principles, including design, plan, buy, and make; planning activities such as material, production, and demand planning; and ERP systems.
• Strong spreadsheet and organizational skills, including pivot tables, formulas, and data visualization.
• Willingness to travel typically up to 25% of the time, primarily domestically.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate and manage vendor contracts and relationships.
• Develop a strategy for bought-out units by reviewing and mapping internal processes, understanding customer needs, and defining strategic and tactical actions.
• Lead project execution using project-management practices to deliver annual operating plan (AOP) savings.
• Support sourcing activities including supplier management, risk mitigation, and make-or-buy decisions.
• Review strategic and tactical frameworks, map processes, and identify improvements to supplier and customer business processes.
• Interact with Dover Corporate Sourcing, engineering, procurement, finance, and suppliers.
• Negotiate supplier pricing, payment terms, volume discounts, and value analysis/value engineering (VA/VE) commitments.
• Serve as the primary strategic interface between suppliers and key business stakeholders.
• Use spreadsheets and data analysis to support sourcing decisions, pricing reviews, and process-tracking reports.
• Develop new sources of supply to minimize risk and meet new business requirements.
• Lead market tests and requests for quotes, negotiate supplier contracts, and create category strategies.
• Support supply-base optimization, SKU and supplier consolidation, global sourcing, and global or regional expansion.
