About The Position

The Sourcing Specialist analyzes and manages sourcing initiatives that drive improvement and cost savings for Skullcandy. The role evaluates suppliers and supply markets, analyzes costs and supplier performance, develops product and service cost models, and turns project findings into sourcing options and opportunities that inform the company’s long-term financial model. The position leads and participates in supplier negotiations, sourcing processes, supplier qualification, and supplier performance management. It also contributes to sustainability initiatives and represents sourcing throughout the commercialization process for headphones, collaborating frequently with Finance, Category, Engineering, Industrial Design, and Packaging.

Responsibilities

Conduct detailed supplier and supply-market analysis, including currency shifts and fluctuations, productivity rates, geopolitical stability, labor stability, and costs.
Compile and analyze data on costing, materials, supplier performance, and RFQs to support strategic procurement decisions and cost-saving initiatives.
Construct detailed cost models and purchase-price analyses for products and services, including supplier visits and bill-of-materials analysis to understand supplier cost structures.
Analyze projects and develop well-structured sourcing options and opportunities that feed into Skullcandy’s long-term financial model.
Create pre-negotiation plans, lead and participate in supplier negotiations, and conduct post-negotiation debriefs and follow-through.
Identify potential suppliers and execute strategic sourcing processes, including creating and executing RFIs, RFPs, and RFQs for new and existing suppliers.
Participate actively on the supplier qualification team by auditing and qualifying new and existing vendors.
Contribute to Skullcandy’s sustainability efforts and initiatives.
Serve as the main business contact for contract manufacturers; establish, communicate, and manage supplier relationships and processes.
Monitor, report, manage, and continuously improve supplier performance through vendor scorecards and ongoing communication with manufacturing partners.
Collaborate with Finance, Category, Engineering, Industrial Design, and Packaging.
Represent sourcing throughout the commercialization process for headphones.
