About The Position

The Sourcing Agent manages the overall procurement process of complex goods/services to include: handling supplier selection, negotiation, contracts, and relationship management while ensuring strategic value and compliance within the Procure-to-Pay (P2P) Process. This position collaborates across the P2P organization and with campus stakeholders. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in related field.
  • Three (3) years of procurement supply chain experience.
  • Ability to travel between campuses for meetings or position responsibilities.
  • Must pass a background check.

Nice To Haves

  • Purchasing experience in higher education or public sector preferred.
  • Experience with Workday ERP system a plus.
  • Equivalent combination of education and/or work experience considered.

Responsibilities

  • Processes procurement requests, including review of purchases and contract requisitions for competitive requirements, ensuring appropriate procurement policy is followed, and non-competitive purchases are auditable/appropriate.
  • Navigates full bidding cycle, working with college departments in the development of scope of work, evaluation criteria, and methodical creation of bids.
  • Resolves procurement administration problems that arise involving invoicing, delivery, rejecting material, interpretation of terms and conditions, changes in requirements, termination, disputes, etc.
  • Analyzes bid submissions for financial costs/revenue and facilitate recommendation of award in the best interest of the college.
  • Reviews and negotiates favorable contract terms in a timely manner.
  • Engages with stakeholders to confirm progress and/or completion, troubleshoot issues or concerns as they arise.
  • Fosters effective relationships with suppliers to ensure compliance with contracts.
  • Represents departments in communicating with suppliers.
  • Drives strategic initiatives to align with the organizational objectives to enhance value, improve service/quality, reduce costs and minimize risk.
  • Analyzes savings, revenue opportunities, service and efficiencies; utilize data to prioritize initiatives.
  • Continually seek process improvement - researching and evaluating current marketplace trends, procurement methodology, and best practice to increase efficiency and improve performance of procurement functions.
  • Troubleshoots complex procurement situations with minimal guidance.
  • Establishes strong and positive working relationships with members of the campus community, college leadership, and suppliers to jointly investigate ways to improve efficiency/effectiveness and to pre-plan future procurement needs.
  • Collaborates among the P2P team and the procurement teams of peer institutions.
  • Attends work activities or programs as scheduled or assigned.
